The Whitaker Leather Curtis Mayfield Style Tribute Guitar Strap is designed to be a faithful shoutout to the classic, “like one Curtis Mayfield used” during his amazing career. My goal was to offer a tribute strap that captured the feel of the original by utilizing my saddle and tack-making background. The original strap, like my version, is based on horse saddle rigging, complete with a rigging ring and the way the ends connect to the ring. However, my version is different in several ways. First, it has an adjustable back piece. Secondly, the leather is stitched to reduce stretching, and my version is lined with suede leather for comfort.
